Ualto was founded in 2007 and the business specialises in the automation of industrial processes. Based in Cavan, founder Clinton Pratt incubated the start-up in his garage at home before it swiftly moved to its current premises, a 3,000 sq ft facility at Century Business Park.
Ualto services organisations throughout Ireland and the UK and the company’s strategy is to expand into European markets in the coming years.
The business has specialist expertise in the Food and Dairy markets and in 2014 it secured its first Pharma. automation project, which was delivered successfully. As the business has grown, Ualto now services the following sectors;
- Food
- Dairy
- Pharma
- Renewable Energy
- Medical Devices
- Industrial
In the course of automating industrial production processes, Ualto recognised the need for a comprehensive end-to-end automation service for clients. To meet this demand, Clinton Pratt partnered with Nigel Ellis to establish sister company Melleko, the mechanical engineering service supplier that specialises in industrial refrigeration and mechanical services.
The two companies combine in-depth expertise, extensive industry experience and a vision for the future that includes growth, skills development and world-class innovation in automation – for the benefit of our customers.
Team
Clinton Pratt is the Managing Director and Founder of Ualto.At the outset of his career, Clinton completed his apprenticeship and worked with J.J. Sampson (now Danfoss) over an 8 year period, before joining global automation specialists, Honeywell Control Systems. After 16 years of industrial automation experience, Clinton founded Ualto in 2007.
The company is now a highly innovative industrial automation specialist, supplying many leading brands across a range of industries in the UK and Ireland.
Clinton believes in the power of self-motivation and commitment and his commercial success in life is a testament to this belief. Having struggled to secure an apprenticeship on leaving education, Clinton was forced to cold call through a directory of electrical engineers to look for a placement. Ultimately he secured an apprenticeship with J.J. Sampson (having got to “J”!). He shares this experience to encourage students who don’t have a smooth path through conventional channels to stay motivated and work around adversity or a lack of opportunity to establish a career path for themselves.
Team expertise within Ualto encompasses qualified electrical technicians and engineers, industrial automation specialists and administrative support staff, including;
- Instrumentation Technicians
- Process Automation Engineers
- Project Management Engineers
- Electrical Engineers
- System Design Engineers (networks)
- Commissioning Engineers
We also have a highly experienced team of junior staff, who support client projects on a day-to-day basis.
